Protools Mix Core System, G4 867, 888/24 interface, 6.4.1 software How do I connect a Mackie HUI to a 888/24 Interface? I want to be able to use the Mackie HUI as my main board so I can use the Mic Pre's if I need to do some vocals. Please help.

Yeah seriously, I don't have the HUI yet was looking at it want to make sure I can use it the way I need to before I buy it.

Oh, OK. Unfortunately the preamp gain knobs are on the back of the unit!!!! The faders are for the control surface only.

as a controller the HUI is quite good but... the analog sucks IMHO

yeah, the only way to use it is via MIDI and the pre im afraid will have to be used as an analog source. The HUI doesnt convert them to digital. I have one - its great but they re a bit old these days. very robust though!
